Goodbye to the scribbled score pad

Canastón is for enjoying with friends, not for spending the night doing sums. These are the questions the app answers for you:

“Do the honors add or subtract?”

It depends on the canastas each team closed. You say how many red threes there are; the app applies the table.

“How much do we need to meld now?”

At the start of every round, each team sees how much it needs to meld based on its score: 50, 90, 120… up to 200.

“So who won in the end?”

When the games are over, the app works out each player’s result and shows you who won the night.

Everything that happens at the table

Made for real Canastón

A round in seconds

A step-by-step guide: exact cut, honors, canastas, going out and each player’s points. You see the score before saving.

Your house rules

Change what each canasta is worth, the Canastón, the penalties or the target. Every session keeps its own rules.

The points to meld, in plain sight

At the start of every round, each team knows how much it needs to meld and whether it can still only meld clean.

Catches mistakes before you save

It warns you if you enter more red threes than the deck holds, two teams going out, or a canasta those cards can’t make.

Partners rotate on their own

With 4 players it sets up the 3 games, one per partnership, and moves the dealer as the rule says. With 6, two teams of three.

Share the session summary as an image and check your table’s stats: standings, streaks and best partnerships.

How it works

Three steps and deal

  1. 1

    Set the table

Type the names in seating order, tap who leads (the mano) and pick the partnerships.

  2. 2

    Score each round

When the round ends, fill in each team’s part. The app adds, subtracts and tells you how much you need to meld next.

  3. 3

    See who won

When a team reaches 15,000 the next game starts, with new partners. At the end, each player’s result decides the winner.

House rules

Every table plays its own way

Canastón rules change from one group to the next. Anota Canaston comes with the usual values and lets you adjust them: what each canasta is worth, the Canastón and Super Canastón, the penalties and the game target.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. You can score as many sessions as you like, with every rule, without paying and without creating an account. Club is optional and adds cloud backup.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. Anota Canaston opens in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer. You only need a Google account if you join Club.

Does it work for six players?

Yes. It works with 4 players — three games, one per partnership — and with 6, in two teams of three with the 8 red threes in play.

What if my group plays different rules?

You can change what each canasta is worth, the Canastón and Super Canastón, the penalties, the game target and how each player’s result is worked out. Every session keeps the rules it was created with.

What happens if I change phones?

Without Club, sessions live only on the device you scored them on. With Club they’re saved in the cloud and show up on any device you sign in on.

Is it in Spanish?

Yes — the app is made in Spanish, with all the table vocabulary: la mano, la ida, the frozen pile, patos and monos. It’s in English too.
